Race 1

Expect a big improvement from Royal Phoenix back on top of the ground today. He showed good promise last prep and had worked well leading into his first up run last start but just failed to handle the heavy ground and dropped out a long last. If you can forgive that run you are getting good overs here.

Race 2

Down the bottom of the weights Aquittal looks well placed to land his first win. He has been off the scene for more than 6 months after his debut run when running 2nd as a $1.40 favourite. On that occasion he loomed to win but raced erratically in the home straight and threw it away due to being too green. With 6 months away from the track to mature he should have come back a better horse.

Race 3

The former French import Green Sweet creates a lot of interest here at odds. First up he was no match for Broadside but that horse had a distinct fitness on that day and now meets Green Sweet 2.5kg worse off at the weights. This is Green Sweet’s first run beyond 2000m.

Race 4

Making his debut Irish Bet looks hard to beat here on the back of an impressive 3.3 length trial win at Warwick Farm. With little exposed form to go on though it might be a race to just sit back and watch.

Race 5

Sugar Bella steps up in grade today but she looks to have a fair share of ability. With 3 wins from just 4 starts to her name she looks to have the most potential of any horse here and might just be too good for them.

Race 6

Sedanzer stormed home to win first up in a race controlled by the leaders and then came home in the fastest 600m when winning at Rosehill last time. She gets up in the weights to 57.5kg today but is in a purple patch of form and should win again.

Race 7

The Godolphin runner Interlocuter will go around as favourite in the Villiers but the Bjorn Baker trained Embley looks a good bet to cause the boil over at big odds. Two starts ago Embley went down by just 1.5 lengths to Interlocuter but meets him 3.5kg better today. With just 54kg and barrier one he should lob a forward position and run a good race.

Race 8

Palazzo Pubblico looked very strong first up when she charged from the back to finish third to Ball Of Muscle in the Mumm Stakes. She ran the fastest closing splits on that day and was strong through the line. With a great record over this track and distance she should be finishing over the top of them late.

Race 9

After sitting 3 wide without cover first up Powerline hit the front in the straight only to be claimed late. That was a big effort and if back on a firm surface today he can reproduce that effort he will be very hard to get past.
